Week #6 . . . Transfer One down!
I can't believe I finished my first transfer already! The time has been flying by. This week was crazy so i'm going to put it in bullet points because i know nobody wants to read huge paragraphs.
1. Last pday we were playing soccer with some little kids. All of the sudden I looked in the street and saw a dog get run over by a car. It was pretty shocking to see something like that, but what shocked me even more was that nobody even reacted.
2. I ate Cow Utters for dinner one night. I didn't even know what it was until i was almost finished but it was actually pretty good.
3. We have transfers tomorrow, and last night they told me i'm going to get a new companion! Im excited to meet him. Buttt.. that means i have to take an 11 hour bus ride at 11pm tonight, pick up my comp, and then take an 11 hour bus ride back. 22 hours in a bus is boutta be rough.
4. Had no water on my bed all week until saturday night. That night I woke up soaked from the rain so i went to grab a towel from my suitcase and found a cockroach on it. I guess what's mine is theirs, i just need to start being less selfish and start sharing all my stuff with the roaches. Errybody eats.
5. They changed our mission rule so i can now talk on pday with fam and friends for 2 HOURS instead of just 1 so that will be super nice. They also made some changes with our mission rules, and it sounds like there's a chance were gonna be able to start knockin doors soon which i'm hyped about.
Blessings of the week:
- Got to see the beach a ton this week because of some investigators that basically live there.
- Lots of lessons in person which is 10x better than over the phone.
- Got a new set of senior missionaries that live like a 10 minute walk from us. They're a super nice couple from Idaho and they have a car so that will be convenient.
- Food was amazing as usual.
- Our water started running for 3 days this week which was a miracle.
- Lots of rain which is my favorite thing ever.
Not even going to lie, the mission is tough. It's a lot of doing things that you don't want to do. It's a lot of missing your family and friends. A lot of times where you are put in stressful situations. It's just hard. And this week I had a little more of that than usual. I was super stressed out and honestly just feeling alone. I opened my scriptures at night and read this:
Mormon 5:23 "Know ye not that ye are in the hands of God? Know ye not that he hath all power, and at his great command the earth shall be rolled together as a scroll?"
I know that god knows me better than i know myself. He knows what i need. He knows who needs help and he knows when they need it. Trust in his timing in everything.
That is all for this week! I'll have a new comp next week and there's a chance we might move houses cause the people living under us moved out and have a bigger house so i will keep you all posted. Love you all so very much.
